The Golgi zone is observed juxtanuclear in position. Secretory granules are increases in number as compared to estrus. STH cell during lactation are polyhedral in shape. Rough endoplasmic reticulums are elongated, tubular dotted with ribosomes. Secretory granules are seen scattered in the cytoplasm. The diameter of secretory granules is about 230 nm. The Effect of Alcohol Intoxication on Mortality in Road Traffic Injury Patients at Level I Apex Trauma Centre in India | Alcohol consumption arising as leading risk factor for road traffic injuries and one of the major public health concerns globally. Alcoholism is associated with liver disease, coronary vascular disease, Hypertension, Stroke, acute pancreatitis etc. [1-4]. There has been a rapid change in recent years towards alcohol use in India and originated as one of the main contributors to health problems. Recent studies have demonstrated that drink driving is strongly associated with a higher frequency of road traffic accidents which leads to hospitalization to emergency department. The alcohol use is increasing in urban areas, therefore, injuries related to alcohol intake and driving is also increased like road traffic accidents, fire and burns, pedestrian falls and drowning as well as intentional injuries such as violence against oneself or others. Effect of Season on In-vitro Anti Oxidant Activity of Astilberivularis Buch – Ham. Ex D. Don leaves | Effect of season on in vitro anti oxidant activity of Astilberivularis Buch. – Ham. Ex D. Don leaves was studied. Leaves of Astilberivularis Buch. – Ham. Ex D. Don were collected in different seasons and in vitro anti oxidant activity of the leaves was measured by superoxide anion generation with the help of xanthine-xanthine oxidase assay and with linoleic acid peroxidation assay as well as by DPPH photometric assay. Total phenol, flavonoids, ascorbic acid and carotenoid contents in the leaves of different seasons were also estimated. Results showed that in vitro anti oxidant activity of the leaves of Astilberivularis Buch. – Ham. Ex D. Don was found maximum during rainy season (June – July). Anti oxidant compounds in leaves like total phenol, flavonoids, ascorbic acid and carotenoids were also present in maximum amount during rainy season. Anti oxidant activity, therefore, was related with high content of total phenol, flavonoid, ascorbic acid and carotenoids in the leaves. Leaves of Astilberivularis Buch. – Ham. Ex D. The Linear Ergometer comprises a linear device fixed to an adjustable tray on a shifter whose travel limiter is adjustable and fixed by a simple handle. The analysis of myocardial deformation has recently emerged as a quantitative means of reliably estimating myocardial contractility. In the assessment of left ventricular function it is therefore less dependent on the load than traditional methods. There are currently two ways to assess myocardial deformation: tissue Doppler (TD) and a new method known as speckletracking (ST). The aim of the present revision was to deepen the study of the longitudinal myocardial deformation of the left ventricle using these techniques for predicting the LVEF deterioration in patients who have undergone surgery for chronic severe mitral valve regurgitation. Is Physical Exercise Capable of Beginning the Powerful Tool for Regulation of Brown Adipocytes Activity? | In mammals, it has been widely accepted that there are three types of adipocytes; white adipocytes, brown adipocytes, and beige adipocytes. White adipocytes are comprised of unilocular large lipid droplet that can store triglycerides as energy, and they play a key role in energy metabolism by providing free fatty acids and glycerol through the hydrolysis of triglycerides [1]. In contrast, brown adipocytes are comprised of multilocular lipid droplet with rich mitochondria into their cell bodies. Function of numerous mitochondria in brown adipocytes is to provide the heat production through free fatty acids which are sourced from hydrolysis of multilocular lipid droplet, thereby increasing in whole body energy expenditure [2]. Moreover, the research done over the past decade have demonstrated that beige adipocytes are identified within white adipocytes that express high levels of uncoupling protein-1 (UCP-1), a marker of brown adipocyte, and contributes thermogenesis [3]. These cells can permit distinction from brown adipocytes via expression of such as Tmem26 and CD137, surface markers of beige adipocytes [4]. Towards an Evolutionary Psychological Perspective on a Taxonomic Model of Individual Differences Correlating with the Five-Factor Model | This preview comprises a short introduction on our novel theory for an evolutionary psychological motivation-based, categorized explanation of individual differences. Based on our findings we constructed an evolutionary taxonomy of motivation (EToM) that we correlated with the traits of the five factor model (FFM). EToM is not just a useful tool for categorizing individual differences but also functions to understand explain and predict individual behavior. This makes it a useful explanatory tool for FFM. One of the reasons for developing our theoretical approach is that evolutionary psychology (EP) currently lacks its own frame work for identifying and explaining individual differences. That is why a growing number of evolutionary psychologists use trait models like the five-factor model. The FFM, however, is a descriptive model based on a lexical inventory and self-report and lacks a theoretical framework [1,2]. Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms of the Ovine ADRB3 Gene in Crossbred Australian Sheep Supplemented with Spirulina (Arthrospira platensis) Cyanobacterial Microalgae | The adrenergic-receptor beta3 (ADRB3) gene is an obesity gene that is involved in the regulation of energy balance and a variety of physiological functions by increasing lipolysis and thermogenesis. Spirulina (Arthrospira platensis) is a blue-green cyanobacterial alga containing 60-70% protein with an extensive history of human consumption, and more recently, inclusion in animal feeds. We had earlier demonstrated that low level oral supplementation by drenching prime lambs with 100 mL/head/day of 1g of Spirulina powder dissolved in 10 mL of water (10%wt:vol) increased live weight and body conformation measurements in Black Suffolk (BS) x Merino crossbred sheep. The hypothesis that genetics-nutrition interactions between sheep breeds with fewer mutations at the ADRB3 locus and an optimal Spirulina supplementation level will increase lean meat production was tested in the current study. Forty-eight crossbred Australian prime lambs sired by four rams of diverse breeds under the same pasture-based management conditions were subjected to a nine-week feeding trial with Spirulina, followed by genomic DNA extraction and single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) analysis. Eleven SNPs in both the coding and noncoding regions of the ovine ADRB3 gene were detected. Nine of the SNPs were in exon I and two in the intron. Variations in SNP frequencies were highly significant (P <0.0001) between all sheep breeds. The maximum and minimum number of SNPs were found in purebred Merinos (4.83) and Black Suffolk x Merino (BS) crossbreds (1.67). In total, one indel and six transverse mutations were detected that resulted in six amino acid substitutions. BS crossbreds had the lowest frequency of mutation and amino acid substitutions in their population in agreement with our hypothesis. In conclusion, BS sheep genetics matched with low level (100 mL/head/day) of Spirulina supplementation can lead to higher meat production with less fat content in a typical pasture-based sheep production system.
