Investigating The Contribution of Physiotherapy in The Quality of Life of Parents with Children and Adolescents diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy | Many researchers have focused on the quality of life (QoL) of children with cerebral palsy, but few have been done about the quality of life of parents with children diagnosed with cerebral palsy. In addition, less attention has been paid to the contribution of physiotherapy to the quality of life of parents with those children. The primary objective of this study was to evaluate the quality of life of parents with children and adolescents diagnosed with cerebral palsy. A secondary aim was to investigate the contribution of physiotherapy to the everyday life of these parents, namely that the effects of physiotherapy on the child automatically affect the quality of life of the parents. Questionnaires were distributed to parents (N=30) at the Developmental Pediatrics Center “Apostolos Fokas”, which belongs to the 1st Pediatric Clinic of the General Hospital of Thessaloniki “Hippocratio”, as well as to a private pediatric physiotherapy center in the Thessaloniki area. The study’s measurement instrument was the specialized quality of life questionnaire for parents with children and adolescents diagnosed with cerebral palsy, which designed by the first author of this dissertation and includes 3 sections (totally, 32 questions). Screening of Oropharyngeal Dysphagia in Patients with Diabetes Mellitus | Diabetes mellitus is a systemic endocrinal disease that results either from deficiency of insulin hormone (type 1) or from insulin resistance or both (type 2). Literature is scarce related to dysphagia with diabetes. This complaint is expressed by some patients and needs to be explored. A-EAT-10 is a questionnaire that explores the presence of dysphagia symptoms among patients. The aim of this work is to screen Egyptian diabetic patients (type 1 and type 2) in El-Demerdash hospital for oropharyngeal dysphagia using the validated Arabic version of Eating Assessment Tool (A-EAT-10) questionnaire to explore the degree of such symptom among them. This was a cross-sectional study conducted to screen the diabetic patients (of both type 1 and type 2) in El-Demerdash hospital for oropharyngeal dysphagia. Bichectomy: Achieving Aesthetic, Funcional and Psychological Results with A Simple Intraoral Surgical Procedure | Bichectomy, or Bichat fat pad removal, is a surgical procedure indicated when there is excess volume on the middle third of the face (bellow the cheekbones / zygoma) giving it a chubby or round look. The ideal candidates are men and women who wish to achieve a slimmer face appearance in this area, and it is also recommended for patients with chronic cheek biting. Extra-oral photographs are part of the preoperative clinical assessment and will be compared with photographs taken postoperative (immediately after the procedure, after 15 days, 45 days and the final evaluation after 4 months), when the facial contour and volume reduction will be monitored. On Optimal Control Pair Treatment: Clinical Management of Viremia Levels In Pathogenic-Induced HIV-1 Infections | The quest to actively draw the attention of research scientist to alternative approach for the eradication of the menace of HIV and its associated pathogens, informed the decision of this present work. In this paper, we concentrated in the formulation of a set of classical improved 3-Dimensional mathematical model, using ordinary differential systems for the study of bi-linear interactions of two infectious variables (HI- virus and parasitoid-pathogen) with the human immune system, in the presence of multiple control pair treatment for the management and sustainability of low level viremia. The model were presented as an optimization control problem, primed by the maximization of uninfected CD4+ T cell count concentration under a minimized systemic cost, defined by the percentage of immunotherapies administered within a finite time interval. The method of analysis explored classical numerical methods known as Pontryagin’s Maximum Principle, which led to establishment of model optimization control strategy; and the existence and uniqueness of the solution of the optimal control pair were critically viewed. Numerical computations of the model, using Runge Kutter of order 4, in a Math cad environment were demonstrated with novel precision results, which not only agreed with known existing models but also showed that the higher the amount of optimal weight factor, that enhances the toxicity of drugs; the earlier, efficient, faster and less amount of chemotherapies required for the maximization of healthy CD4+ T cell count concentration. The model justified the sustainability of low level viremia under set control chemotherapies. Thus, the methodology and use of multiple treatment factors as designed by this model is widely recommended for other related infectious diseases. Contamination of Interventional Radiology Lead Aprons by Nosocomial Pathogens | Lead radiation protection aprons and neck/thyroid shields are used by hospital personnel in rooms where ionizing radiation is present. These methods of radiation protection are used in the catheter lab by personnel such as interventional radiologists and interventional cardiologists who often perform procedures upon immunocompromised patients who are at increased risk for acquiring hospital acquired infections (HAI). In the United Kingdom, HAI constitute a substantial financial burden up to 1000 million euro per year [1]. Patients with HAI remain in the hospital 2.5 times longer and incur higher personal costs than patients without [2]. Since these radiation protective aprons are cleaned infrequently, they serve as a possible source of HAI. For More Articles: Biomedical Open Access Journals : https://biomedres.us/

The results of the survey questionnaire revealed that none of the medical staff cleaned their protective lead.

Oils for Skin Therapy for Suffering Seniors | Owing to aging, many senior citizens experience skin dryness which manifests as itchy skin. The itchy skin can appear suddenly without notice, and the taken-by-surprise senior may not realize what the cause of it could be. During such occasions, it is best not to scratch because it will give rise to raised welts or red rashes. These scratched areas could also provide areas for infection. Some sufferers may also be accused of having a mental health condition by less-than-kind persons. Traditional remedies include rubbing the body with curative oil like pure cold pressed olive oil or pure cold-pressed coconut oil. The oil is then allowed to seep into the skin with its curative nutrients for a couple of hours, then the excess washed off. It is essential that the oil used in therapy be totally pure, and not hot extracted, or mixed with lower quality oils. Another blunder would be to use pure oil that has been mixed with oils from other fruits or vegetation to decrease the costs. Avocado oil is also recommended as a third possibility. Primary Intimal Pulmonary Vein Sarcoma with Expansion to the Left Atrium | We have recently treated a patient with pulmonary vein sarcoma. It is a 65 year old women who was admitted to the hospital because of the chest pain with propagations down her right arm, followed by suffocation and coughing out content with traces of blood and febrility >38°C. The primarily suspected pulmonary embolism was ruled out after the diagnostic heart CT scan and transthoracal and transesophageal echocardiogram which verified the existing of a tumor mass in the left atrium. The patient underwent an urgent surgery and the tumor mass was removed surgically from the upper right pulmonary vein. The path histological diagnoses revealed pulmonary vein intimal sarcoma. Pulmonary vein intimal sarcoma is one of the rarest sarcoma subtypes. To our knowledge, there is only one published case of such pathology in the literature. Laparoscopic Adrenalectomy Formetastatic Adrenal Mass as Diagnosis of Suspected Lung Tumor: A Case Report | Adrenal metastases at time of initial diagnosis occur in less than 10% patients with non small cell lung cáncer. To an adrenal mass and a pulmonary nodule, adrenal ectomy should be performed in suspected adrenal metástasis from a primary lung tumor. A 60-years old male, ex-smoker since seven month ago, COPD, and colonic polyps, presents fever of unknown origin. A computed tomography scan of the thorax and abdomen demonstrated a pulmonary node of 15 mm in the upper right lobe (Figure 1) and a left adrenal mass of 8x9x8 cm with out defined fat planes of the left kidney upper pole and the left renal vein pedicle (Figure 2). Bronchial biopsy was no posible with Flexible bronchoscopy. The core needle biopsy showed the tumoral in filtration. Were sected the left adrenal mass after ligation of the left adrenal vein by laparoscopic approach with four trocars and with out complications. The tumor was totally resected with the spleen and the left kidney because they seemed in filtrates; we left a drain at the upper left cuadrant. The operating time was 200 minutes. The resected specimen include a metastatic mass of 12x10x8 cm, the spleen of 10×6 cm and the left kidney of 9x6x4 cm (Figure 3 & 4). Microscopic examination confirmed metastatic adenocarcinoma originating from the lung. The spleen and the left kidney had not tumor in filtration. Post operatively the patient did well and was discharged on the third day. For More Articles: Biomedical Research Articles : https://biomedres.us/

Reconstruction of a Worn or Mutilated Dentition with the Utilization of an over Denture Appliance for a Patient with Enamel Deficiency – A Case Report | Evidence suggests that the retention of mandibular roots for the preservation of bone in patients by utilizing an over denture is a conservative approach for a fixed and removable prosthetic reconstruction. A young adult with worn and fractured dentition exhibited severe loss of function and esthetics, exhibiting both occlusal discrepancies as well as esthetic problems. The treatment was preventive as well as conservative in nature. It was recommended to preserve endodontically treated teeth in order to preserve the bone in young patients with a severely worn, non-restorable dentition. By reviewing the current literature, several aspects of patient selection and treatment planning are discussed. This case report suggests that patients can benefit from a fixed and removable maxillary and mandibular prosthetics by using over denture stud attachments, preserving the endodontically treated roots in order to maintain bone.
