Assessment of Cyber bullying and Emotional Stability among Higher Secondary Students | The influence of social network in present days becoming rampant in our society, our teenagers, especially school and college students massively use the internet, by using the social networking sites via email, facebook, whatsapp, twitter, Skype etc. They became addicted to it. Most of them bullying and harass others through sending nasty and insulting messages, posting pictures and sexual remarks or blackmailing the bully through his/ her personal texts, photographs, relationship etc. The present study is an attempt to assess the level of cyber bullying and emotional stability among higher secondary students. A sample of 160 students selected from different secondary school in Chidambaram among which 80 boys (40 from science and 40 arts background) and 80 girls (40 from science and 40 arts background) were randomly selected and were given two questionnaires; Cyber bullying and Online Aggression Survey by Hinduja & Patchin [1]. Since most of the biological processes are controlled by proteins, it is important to quantitatively measure proteome alterations in varying conditions to mechanistically understand how cellular processes are carried out. Within the last decade mass spectrometry increasingly became the method of choice for proteome analyses and now also provides a solid platform for its accurate quantification. Syatemic sclerosis affects the body’s organs as one of the rheumatic autoimmune diseases, which means that the body’s immune system behaves abnormally. The main result of this is the so-called hardening of the skin and the appearance of infections and ulcers in many parts of the body, Lungs, kidneys, heart, intestinal tract and other organs, and yet there is no cure for hardened skin but alternative treatments are effective for some forms of disease available. Yellow Wasp Polistes Flavus Venom Protein, Its Purification, Solubilization and Antimicrobial Activity | Yellow wasp Polistes flavus venom toxins were isolated by cutting the last two segments of abdominal region and purified on Sepharose CL- 6B 200 column, the molecular weight of venom protein from yellow wasp ranging from 6-70kD. The purified venom toxins were investigated for its antimicrobial activities against three infectious bacterial pathogens. Paper disc diffusion and serial dilution assays were performed for determination of Inhibition Zone Diameter (IZD) and Minimal Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) respectively. MIC values obtained were 12.3 μg/ ml against E. coli, and 24.69 μg/ml for Salmonella typhi and Vibrio cholera. By agar disc diffusion method, the Inhibition Zone Diameter (IZD) for E. coli, Salmonella typhi and Vibrio cholera were 36±0.14, 19.96±0.36 and 21.69±0.22 respectively. In present investigation, Triton X-100 was found good solubilizing agent for venom protein. Matrigel® as 3D culture medium: 2D vs. 3D changes in proliferation and ultrastructure | 3D cell culture has great potential in the field of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Three- dimensional ECM-like substances such as Matrigel® mimic natural proteins found in the ECM and result in a more accurate reflection of cell growth within the human body. In our lab, we compared HT1080 cells transfected with the histone H2B-green fluorescent protein (GFP) growing directly on glass (2D) to those in Matrigel® on the basis of cell growth, proliferation, division and morphology. During cell counting, the cells were maintained at a near-homeostatic temperature, humidity and CO2 level in a custom stage top environmental chamber [1] while being imaged on an Olympus (Melville, NY) IX70 inverted fluorescence microscope. Our results indicated that cell growth, division and proliferation were of greater magnitude in Matrigel® than on a glass coverslip (control). For ultrastructure imaging purposes, a culture of MDCK cells (Canis familiaris, kidney, normal) that were transfected with a pEYFP-Tubulin plasmid subcellular localization vector were used. Advances in the Treatment of FLT3-Mutated AML | AML is a heterogeneous disease and is the most common acute leukemia in adults. It has an annual US incidence over 20,000 and death rate of over 10,000 per year. The 5-year remission rates after conventional induction therapy is 40% below 60 years and 10%-20% in older patients. FLT3-ITD mutation has been added to the WHO risk stratification as a predictor of poor prognosis. On April 28, 2017 FDA approved midostaurinin combination with standard cytarabine and daunorubicin induction and cytarabine consolidation for treating adult newly diagnosed AML patients who are FLT3 mutation positive as detected by an FDA approved test.
